My Flair Affair might have Laura Malone’s name on it, but truthfully…it kind of created itself. What started as a quirky little hobby spiraled into a full-blown obsession—the kind of delightful monster you can’t help but love.
Unable to find bag charms that appealed to her, Laura crafted her own.
Laura is no stranger to entrepreneurship (she co-founded Cidercade, Bishop Cider, and a handful of other ventures in Dallas, TX), but My Flair Affair (a.k.a. MFA) wasn’t meant to be “business-y” at all. She just loved making bag charms. But then…everyone wanted one. You get the picture.
At MFA, every charm tells a story. Laura handpicks, curates, and assembles every figurine, trinket, and bit of flair herself. She believes your bag should show off your personality as loudly (or subtly) as you want—and her charms are just the magic touch to do it.
Oh, and don’t bother asking when restocks happen. Laura makes charms when inspiration strikes, not when someone demands it. So if you see something you love, grab it fast—once it’s gone, it’s gone.
When Laura isn’t sprinkling her creative magic into charms or wrangling her other businesses, she’s off making memories with her husband, two kids (10-year-old son and 8-year-old daughter), and two very spoiled Golden Retrievers.
9 Fun Facts About Laura
- Faith + Wine = Deep Talks // She loves Jesus and happily pairs spiritual conversations with a chilled glass of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc.
- Forever Planning the Next Adventure // If she’s not on a trip, she’s planning one—or, let’s be honest, planning one while she’s already on another. Wanderlust doesn’t even begin to cover it.
- Raising Tiny Globetrotters // Certified travel planner. Two kids. Nearly 20 countries stamped in their passports. Enough said.
- World-Schooler // The kids are "home-schooled" by Laura, but it was probably just an excuse to travel more that over Spring Break and the summer.
- Disney Devotee // A Texan with a Disney season pass? Naturally. She makes 8–10 pilgrimages a year, sneaks in a Universal visit every time, and has a deep, nostalgic love for the Wizarding World.
- A Dopey with Determination // Disney’s Marathon Weekend offers four races (5K, 10K, half, and full). Do them all, and you’ve conquered the Dopey Challenge. Laura has. Her husband joined too, though he affectionately calls it the “Moron Marathon.”
- Textbook Enneagram 7 // Curious, adventurous, insatiably joyful—she’s 100% a “7.” Translation: she’ll run all four races, hit theme parks the same day, try every new food, plan every outfit (down to the flair), and still find a way to book another trip before she even gets home. "I need something to look forward to."
- Photography Roots // Before all the businesses and charms, Laura studied photography and captured over 100 weddings through her lens.
- Dog Obsessed // Especially with Goldie. Yes, Goldie is the favorite. Yes, she admits it. If her back could handle it, she’d carry that 75-pound fluffball around in a baby carrier- although getting food to the correct mouth while eating would be rather difficult...
